HEALTHY STEPS TO ALBANY
The Healthy Steps to Albany: First Lady's Challenge" is a health and wellness awareness campaign initiative designed as a contest to encourage middle school students to increase their physical activity and eat healthy foods.
During her visit, the First Lady brought the students some apple treats and took time out to shared her own personal story as a teen, in which she use running to maintain a healthy weight and overcome depression.
The six-week fitness challenge begins on March 1st 2010. Winning classrooms will be invited to participate in a field day where they will meet the Governor, First Lady and special guests, and receive a trip to a farm to learn about whole foods and agriculture.
