We have renewed our commitment to I.S. 68 parents and community member by upgrading our school’s website and creating a Parent Handbook which is design to be helpful in getting to know our school and dedicated staff.   We ask that Parents review this handbook with their children and us it as a reference, as it contains important policies & procedures that are used at I.S. 68.

  1. When does school start?  The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 9. If you're new to New York City, new to the public schools, or are returning to the public schools after time away, find out how to enroll your child. Registration centers are open through September 18 for high school students and other students who don't have a zoned school. If you have a zoned school, you can register there starting September 9.   2. What is my child learning?  The DOE’s Great Expectations Learning Guides provide information about what students learn in core subject areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as well as what families can do at home to enhance learning in those areas and describe what students can expect to learn each year from kindergarten through 8th grade.Learn more about the academic standards and curriculum, plus graduation requirements for English language arts,  mathematicssciencesocial studies,fitness and health, and world languages.

How is my child doing in school?  Learn more about how your child is doing by visiting ARIS Parent Link a new parent portal which provides families with online access to their child's Periodic Assessment results as well as their child's NY State Test results, attendance, and course grades. Parents will also be given a username and password so that they can log into the ARIS Parent Link Web. 
  5. What rules and polices affect my child and his or her school? Learn more about the Chancellor’s Regulations, the Discipline CodeNCLB, the Parent Bill of Rights, the Student Bill of Rights, and our promotion policy.

  7. How can I learn more? Read the "NYC Family Guide: 2008-2009." The guide provides useful information for families about the City’s Children First school reforms, choosing a school and enrollment, and the kinds of services that are available to the City’s public school students. It also provides information about how families can get involved in their children’s education—and where they can go to find answers, help, and support.
